James 3:13-18

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. ¹⁴ But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. ¹⁶ For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. ¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. ¹⁸ Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. -James 3:13-18


Paraphrase: Let him who claims to be wise and understanding prove by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. If you have envy and are proud, do not deceive yourselves for this wisdom is earthly and demonic. Wherever there is envy and pride, there is also confusion and every evil thing.


Wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing, full of mercy and good fruits, not biased and not fake. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.


Lessons Learnt: 
-There are 2 types of wisdom, Righteous and Demonic.
-As long as we have envy and pride, it is demonic wisdom.
-Righteous wisdom is pure and peaceful and are found in those that make peace.


Prayer: O LORD my God, I thank you for this daily bread. I pray that LORD you guide me that if I were to share my thoughts and opinion on a certain topic that my words be of righteous wisdom, that I share with a genuine heart to shed light on the topic and not with a heart to gain pride or with an envious heart. I thank you for sustaining my life till now LORD. Amen.
